HomeOwnership.org counseling services are provided by Springboard's nonprofit housing counselors. Springboard, a HUD approved agency, has been serving the community and helping people like you since 1974. Funding is provided by private and public grants, therefore your counseling session is completely free of charge.
Loan Modifications and Foreclosure Help
Find out your options and get advice on foreclosure alternatives, loan modifications, government mortgage relief, short sales, forbearance, deed-in-lieu and more. A housing counselor can help you:
- Identify all your available mortgage relief options
- Create a customized action plan
- Provide budget suggestions
- Help negotiate directly with your lender
All you need to provide is:
- Financial information - your current income and expenses
- Mortgage information - from your mortgage statement that contains your loan number(s).

First Time Home Buyer Education
Education is offered to first-time homebuyers free of charge and available only in Southern California. To get a schedule on the upcoming first-time homebuyer seminars and to register, call 951-781-0114 ext. 7820, or email education@credit.org.

Reverse Mortgage Counseling
Because there are risks, obligations and costs associated with obtaining a reverse mortgage its important to understand and carefully consider your decision. Springboard is a HUD approved counseling agency and offers the reverse mortgage counseling that is a requirement in obtaining a reverse mortgage.
